Been a GL1500 owner for years, and know the model inside-out mechanically. I like to ride into the winter, although I try to avoid once the roads become salted. This last winter though my mufflers really rusted up due to salt spray, and the collector box is now worse for wear too.
Now looking to buy a sixth gen Tour DCT to add to the stable, and will look for 2021-2022 to avoid the first several years of production, plus to get the larger top box.
Can anyone confirm if the entire exhausts are stainless, including down-pipes and the internal mufflers and the outer muffler housings?
Anyone had problems with corrosion in general on their 6th Gen? I suspect I'l get it treated with Lanoguard or XCP or similar anyway.
How's the 6th gen Corrosion-Wise?

Mine is a very low milage 2018. I like to get a snow scape ride or two in during the winter months and it's seen slop and salt. After one of those rides it gets a high pressure rinse and put back to sleep. Other than normal bluing and surface rust all is fine. It's not a rust bucket.

Thank you very much. Difficult for me to tell from your photos, which parts of the exhaust system are stainless. Are you able to clarify? The down-pipes look stainless, but is that just some kind of trim over mild steel pipes?

All Honda says is the exhaust system is stainless steel. Headers are chrome with chrome covers. The mid pipes, H pipe and mufflers are clearly stainless steel. The exhaust system will out last me by a decade or three. I don't know what grade of stainless steel it is. The oem exhaust system on my Yamaha MT-09 is stainless steel. And the aftermarket Akrapovic system on the MT-09 is stainless steel, titanium and carbon fiber. I guess if your that worried about rust you could fork out the money for a custom high grade stainless, titanium or inconel. Frame, wheels, fasteners, hoses and other stuff are going to rot before the exhaust imho. I need to work on the thing in the next few days. Have to go into the ISG and check the ISG bolt and might as well look into the UBS bolt. If I remember I'll take a magnet to it. Good Luck
