Can't program Homelink; no dash light
Hey folks, just installed Homelink (not trivial), but when I went to program it by pushing and holding the button, the homelink dash light doesn't light up and basically nothing happens. Pretty sure I installed it right (connectors only go in one way, and although it's a long install, it's not complicated). Any tips on troubleshooting?

Is your HomeLink a Hondaline accessory, or is it aftermarket ???DPHG wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 5:36 pm Hey folks, just installed Homelink (not trivial), but when I went to program it by pushing and holding the button, the homelink dash light doesn't light up and basically nothing happens. Hondaline, but I did eventually figure it out. For those of you who are still stuck. You need an actual OEM remote for your opener to program HomeLink. An aftermarket opener WILL NOT WORK even if it seems to work fine with your garage door opener. Once I ordered and programmed an OEM remote, then following the programming steps for HomeLink worked.

Not with everything ... but it never stop amazing me how when something does not work that something from the aftermarket is involved.
