Check engine light

2018 gL1800. Check engine light came on after a rough start after turning the motor off while the automatic transmission was in reverse. Will there be any damage?

You need to pull the trouble codes.

Funniest thing… since the big clang I Heard when the engine slammed back to neutral when I mistakenly turned off the motor, the check engine light has now gone off. I don’t know if the computer was texting it for a bit or what because it had been started around 8 times since the incident. Cheers! Here’s to hoping that light stays off hahaha!

You should still check the stored codes and clear them for next time.

I too would pull the DTC code(s). Once done, be sure to clear them.
