Sounds like a fun run place to ride! Unless it is the east coast. I enjoy riding anywhere in the Appalachian mountains.
Too many projects are interfering with my riding time!

I have not read all the posts yet. The very general location may be doable. Is the date been set yet, or waiting for input?

Back east again?

They should alternate, one year in the East, one year in the Midwest, one year in the West. Next year, let's do it in Reno, Nevada.

Yes, but quite frankly, the organizers (and most of the riders) are from the East. I have suggested a bit closer to the mid-West (though I too am from the east and would like to see one in the Ozarks area). That said, why don't you start a thread about creating a gathering in your part of the country? It's been suggested for several years to others as well. Who knows, you might get some of us "Easterners" to show up! ;)

That's an idea.

We've had Super Cub rallies here, and Street Vibrations for the V-twins, maybe we need Goldwing West.

Northern Arkansas would be awesome - I was there last year for a week - Rode 1000 miles of twisty roads and never was on the same road twice ! :geek:

If I'm able to go, this will be my first Gathering. Typically, what days are riding days and what days are travel days?

Looking at the dates of August 19th-23rd, that's a Monday - Friday. So can I assume that means check in is Monday.... ride Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.... and check out on Friday?

Yes, this year we are trying mid-week to eliminate the travel traffic problems on the weekends.

So, you will arrive Monday and leave Friday. Rides are in Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
