would,nt u know it , when am selling...
Hi! everybody! , been about a year since i have been on this forum. You all helped me so much in the past i have bragged alot about this site. i have a 1977 gl1000 naked goldwing. for the last year the bike has been great! I go to sell it and would you know it , it has a problem. I think i know what it is , but i know you guys know your stuff. I started the bike to let it idle alittle to warm up. then i heard it miss. long story short. left side spark plugs are not firing , spark plugs 3 and 1. I put new spark plugs in and no change. I figure it is the coil packs ? what you all think ? thanks! for all the help in the past..

The coils fire 1 / 2 (front) and 3 / 4 (rear). Not likely the coils. You need to determine if it is ignition or fuel related.

Are you sure about the cylinder numbers, as that discounts the points and the coils if it is really 1 and 3 not firing. How about the wires loose on the coils (unless it has stock coils then there are no connections at the coils). You need to be sure of the electrical first before considering any carb work. Sure sounds like an electrical issue to me.

You shook the bike, well that explains it better than fuel. I bet you had a wire loose to a coil or something like that. Good deal on the sale, time for a new project.
