Timeing belt cover
Timeing belt cover
I was cleaning the bike up a little this morning & I found a little piece of the part that the timeing belt cover bolts to cracked & there is a little piece of it missing about inch & a half long & maybe 1/4 inch wide at the most. What will it affect & what can be done about it .TY all

Re: Timeing belt cover
That cover protects the timing belts from "stuff" getting to them. Any hole will let in things that don't belong in there and can destroy the belts and then the engine. Buy new ones.

Re: Timeing belt cover
You'll need to take the cover off and try to fill in the part of the metal that is missing. Perhaps some J-B weld. I believe you can make a kind of protector against the cover so the J-B weld will not adhere to it and then then just fill in the hole. I believe you are saying that the part that is missing is the engine piece itself.tommydog wrote:I was cleaning the bike up a little this morning & I found a little piece of the part that the timeing belt cover bolts to cracked & there is a little piece of it missing about inch & a half long & maybe 1/4 inch wide at the most.
