I am helping a friend with a newly acquired to him GL1000. It has been noted that the fuel pump is weeping fuel out the fuel pump. Of course this is causing the bike to run erratic. Upon doing some 'net research, it is believed that the fuel pump diaphragm is shot.
I have spent a couple of days searching for a rebuild kit or a diaphragm for this pump to no avail, so it leads me to ask these questions.
Is there a rebuild kit available for this fuel pump?
Is there a tech article for replacing with an electric pump?
Is there a cross reference with other fuel pumps that will work with this motor?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Hi Kevin!
Honda never made parts available for the mechanical pumps, as far as I know there isn't an aftermarket pump available for the mechanical pump but new stuff comes up all the time, A fellow who calls himself Randakk offers an electric replacement (no association or affilliation)
you might check price with him, google his name and you should come up with his web site. Hope this helps

There is no aftermarket or OEM fuel pump or kit. There are electric pumps available. www.randakks.com is one alternative . The link here is another. With this one you will have to fab a mounting bracket. http://www.jtoutfitters.com/volt-electr ... 10765.html
I think most auto supply houses carry this pump.

I bought a used pump on eBay but it lasted less than a year. Ended up putting in a NOS one in and it's been fine ever since.

Parts like people don't recover from old age! even NOS stuff can be risky after 30 years : )
