AGM batteries

Does anybody have any experience with AGM batteries. I just bought a TMS branded battery for my 77 and it was good to go right out of the box. My only concern is that there is no breather tube but there are two very small holes on the top of the battery. I am wondering if this is venting through those holes and if I should worry about corrosion above the battery. (Not that the old breather tube never caused any, it did).

AGM batteries have no liquid acid, so they do not need breather hoses and I also believe most can be mounted in any orientation. I have a BigCrank in my wing and am very happy with the AGM.

I placed an Interstate Batteries AGM in my wing and have been very pleased with it. The battery rep that comes to service our heavy equiptment said the AGM could be turned upside down without a problem. I will just take his word for it and not test it out.

This is why you can order and AGM on line and install it as soon as you unbox it. I have seen others on custom builds put them on the side, and they do just fine. Very happy with my BigCrank by Deka.
