Cafe Racer Pictures
I tried doing a search in pictures but it really doesn't want to work right for me. I want to see your cafe racers and naked wings and want to see the customizations you've done. Uploads anyone?
*P.S. I don't consider fairings as "customization" unless you molded and made it yourself from fiberglass. Just sayin'.

Re: Cafe Racer Pictures
Not really Cafe Racer in my book as no rear sets and the bars are not flat.

Not a cafe, but here's my 84 standard. Changed out all the lighting, chopped the seat.
I've ridden Goldwings cafe'd out. I felt totally stretched out to reach the clubman bars, it a long way from saddle to bars...laying on the false tank is not for me, but I think they look pretty awesome.

I like the guitar in the side bag! I have gone to band practice a few times with a bass strapped to my back on the bike and the wind pulls back on it so hard the straps hurt my shoulders!

Re: Cafe Racer Pictures
**************HIJACK ALERT*************
Yeah, I used to be all over Dallas 'Busking' w/guitar (not the best place for it, DO NOT RECOMMEND!) Carrying a gig-bag on a bicycle is a lot of work, but do-able, on a motorcycle I really was too nervous about sudden gusts pulling me either off the bike, or off course/ lane change. Of course like Arlo said, "with an acoustic guitar there's more wind pressure on the box side than on the neck side, 'cause there's more guitar on the box side..."
So that's why that one was riding where it was, and made the trip no problems- about 80 miles- but for regular travel with a guitar- full sized, dreadnought- I think the rig Elvis had in one of his movies (where he got run off the road on his motorcycle...?) would be the way to do it!

Boy Landisr, that bike looks great. Love the tank rack, that is period correct and looks great on these old girls. The seat looks great too, what kind of rear rack is that? Sure looks well cared for.

Re: Cafe Racer Pictures
Thanks. I actually use the rack now and then to mount a tank bag. The luggage rack was off a CB750 I used to have. Don't recall the brand except that it has an adjustable (fore & aft) backrest that came with it. Perhaps another member can ID the brand. The pics aren't necessarily current because the seat I have on it now is an oldie but goodie; an EZ-Berg. Remember him? And I also frequently cheat and mount my National Cycle Plexifairing on it unless it's a really laid back day.

An easy on, easy off fairing is a great idea. I take off my windshield a good part of the year, but a fairing that comes off just as easy is a better idea.

'Impossible' is just a level of difficulty! The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask first!
