Saddleman Seat Kit?

I have gone through several used seats since I got my bike. I finally found a Mustang with a backrest last summer and thought I was set but it got destroyed in the fire. Over the winter I found a used seat with no rips. Now that seat is splitting at the seams! I see a kit made by saddleman available all the time where you use your pan for new vinyl and foam. The catch is it says for original style seat pan only. Mine is not original style. I wonder if anyone has tried one of these kits on an aftermarket seat?

One of the dozens of unmarked aftermarket seats. Very few GL1000's have the original seat on them.
