77 Hond goldwing
I was riding down the highway at 70 mph and the bike started to loose power backfired once and then shut down What could this be?

Thats not a lot to go on but I would check points first. Check to see if you have spark, compression, and fuel with correct timing.

Possible broken timing belt. My 76 did just that when a belt broke. Just a guess though.
