no frame number
Has anyone ever heard of a frame being produced with no ID numbers. We are looking at buying a crate of bits that used to be a GL1000. The engine numbers make it a 75, but there is no frame number. If there has never been an un-stamped frame that we suspect it may have been removed, which is always a suspicious.

Re: no frame number
An unstamped frame means that it was sold, individually, through a Honda dealership as a replacement. Just like you could order a set of handle bars, you could order a frame. They came without a 'serial number'.

Re: no frame number
In Canada, they put the frame number not on the head tube. I do not recall where, but when you look at a Canadian bike to understand the VIN, looking at the head tube does not work.
