Valve Covers
I have a 76 GL1000 and my valve covers are always leaking oil form the valve cover bolts. I have replaced the gromets a couple of times and this last time I noticed the holes didnt seem to line up. Both of the covers have GL1100 badges on them. Are the 1000 and 1100 inner changeable or do I have the wrong valve covers on? The guy I got the bike from loved badges and stuck them all over the bike and they dont look like original badges.
You're wasting time, just ride.

Re: Valve Covers
The covers will interchange. There are also aftermarket covers out there that others have had problems with. It would be helpful if you would post a pic of the cover.

Re: Valve Covers
An alternative to trying to make those (possibly aftermarket) covers of yours stop leaking is to pick up a set of correct used covers on eBay. They are very affordable. Strip, wet sand and polish them, then use only genuine Honda rubber when mounting them back up. Here's a set right now on eBay for only $40 and they include the badges.
