What is this part, and Electronic Ign.
I have a 1977 GL1000. On the right side of 'false' tank there is a (regulator or relay) of some kind right behind the coolant recovery tank. What is it? Also, can someone give me a link for electronic ignition for this model?

Pretty sure you are speaking of either the seven volt regulator that powers the instrumentation or the diodes that work the neutral switch and reserve lighting unit. Dynatek makes a very good electronic ignition.

Fred Camper is correct, Dynatek makes a great electronic ignition for the GL1000. Easy to install and very reliable.

Z1 Enterprises seems to be a common source for Dynatek. I know there are others but cannot speak to those.

Has to be an add-on of some type. Nothing on the right side but the coolant tank and kick starter. Z1 Enterprises is the least expensive for EI out there.

All the factory regulators, diodes etc. are on the left side, easily accessible under the flip-open cover. I think we'd need a picture of the item you're talking about in order to identify it.
