What are these?! Help please

Funny looking bolt

This may sound stupid to a lot of you veteran Goldwingers but i just bought my first GL1000 1978, currently stripped right down apart from the engine and swing arm.

The centre pin which holds the swing arm on the left hand side has these strange looking bolts and 30mm nuts. I think this one is welded on and i can't get it off. Heres some pics, should make more sense...

I first thought these bolts may be add ons for panniers but theres one on the front left too.

Help would be much appreciated I'm tempted to just cut the buggers off but i decided to ask the pro's

Definitely add on and not stock. Just a guess but possibly side car mounts???

My guess would be sidecar mounts as well.
