Ok, so I purchased the vertical battery strap from Randakk. This is the one for the year I have. I am assuming I am missing a piece off my battery housing?
Also, I noticed that there was a rouge yellow wire not in its home. Can anyone assist me with its correct location?
Thanks guys!

It goes in next to the red. The one next to the green remains open/unused:

You are missing the metal strap that is hinged on the bottom.Lastwachter wrote:Ok, so I purchased the vertical battery strap from Randakk. This is the one for the year I have. I am assuming I am missing a piece off my battery housing?

Basically holds the battery in the case and the strap locks it down.

Here's a good replacement: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-GL-GL1000 ... ea&vxp=mtr
For the wire that's escaped - it has a little 'tang' on it's side that locks into a groove when pushed inside the plastic housing. It (the tang) may be missing or just pushed down too far. If still intact, bend it up a bit so it will catch when reinserted.
