Location of ignition by-pass diode?

I just acquired a 1978 gl1000. Under the left tank panel there is an electrical connector that is not plugged into anything.
It is just dangling in there. Is this what the ignition by-pass diode plugs into?
I downloaded the repair manual but it is not clear to me where this diode is located.
