I finally have a little time to start putting my 75 project back together.
Was sorting thru the parts trying to remember what goes where and I came across this piece.
OK, check the shop manual. Wait that has been packed and sent to Indiana where we are in the process of moving to.
I'm still here in New Mexico doing a punch list on our home to ready it for market.
Enough of that.
If I can post some pictures maybe someone can tell me where it goes and what it's for.
Hope it not for one of my other project bikes and got mixed in with the 75 GL parts.

Took a closer look at my 75 today.
Couldn't imagine where it might fit.
Found a free download for a service manual.
Looked at the radiator section and some others.
Couldn't find anything similar.
Guess it will hit the junk pile.
Thanks for the come-backs.
Also another mark that looks sort of like a sun symbol. It is a circle with several lines coming from it that might symbolize rays.
In the center of the circle is the number 87. If this indicates the year the piece was made or what year it fits then it is certainly not from my 75 Wing.
The bike is completely stock.
If memory serves me I have never owned an 87 motorcycle, truck , or car.
I'm not going to get rid of the piece until I get the bike completely back together.

That was kind of my thought, a cover or surround for fuses and relays. The 87 could indicate when the mold was machined and could have been used for some years after that. Strange how the other marking resembles the Nipponese Rising Sun.
OK, here's what I remember.
A couple of years back a friend and I to a trip to Illinois to attend the Moonshine Run in April.
We used his Ranger pickup with his bike in the bed and mine on a trailer behind.
I don't know what year the Ranger was but I will find out.
Thanks for the detective work and I'll let you know of any more developments.
As for now I am thinking maybe it didn't come off a motorcycle at all.
I have looked at all my project bikes and I can't see anywhere it might fit.
I have thought about the other bikes I have worked on and came to the same conclusion.
I agree.
Skier ran the numbers on the back and it came back as a piece from an 87 Ford Ranger.
I did take a trip with a buddy using a Ranger to pull the bike trailer.
How this piece got mixed in with my junk I haven't the foggiest.
Haven't been able to confirm if it came off his truck or not.
The mystery continues.
