ignition switch problem on a 1978 Goldwing
I am cleaning up a 1978 wing and ran into a problem that seems to be related to the ignition switch. I had just finished replacing the timing belts and I was cranking it over when all at once no power. Checked the fuses and all were good. Checked the power to the ignition switch and it had voltage. Tried it again and it cranked then quit again. I removed the ignition switch and tried jumping from the red terminal and got lights, etc, so I'm thinking that the ignition switch is no longer working and it doesn't look like you can take it apart. I have another Goldwing as well as a couple of 750's but I have never had this problem. Is there something to look at that I don't know about or do I need a new ignition switch?

It can be disassembled and cleaned. There isn't a DIY here for it, but I found one here that shows the procedure fairly well: http://www.ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 32#p139432

Not a bad job and can work really well afterwards.
