engine dowels
I am putting cylinder heads on a 78 GL1000. The Honda shop manual says to remove the dowels in the block. I have also been told to replace the old dowels when the heads have been removed. I have not been able to remove all the dowels as two seem to be stuck so if I remove them they might be damaged. Does anybody know a source for these dowels? David Silver advertises them but says they are not in stock.

Re: engine dowels
Google 20X12 cylinder head pin dowel available from many places, google Honda 94301-12200 and you will find them on ebay, Amazon etc, They are not unique to the GL1000 you have, they are used on many other heads too (garden equipment). Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha all use them. think they use them on the CX500 just ring or go to a bike dealer who knows what he is doing and ask for a 20X12 cylinder head pin dowel or a 94301-12200

This seller in California has loads of them.

If the OH means you are in Ohio give Betty a ring at Cyclemax she may be able to get them by the part number for you.

If at first you don't succeed, hide the evidence.

Re: engine dowels
Thanks Big Blue, I figured that the dowels might be used on a number of different engines, and somebody on GoldwingDocs. would confirm this. I am going to check out Cyclemax.
