auxillary voltage regulator

Post by gnarlyroad » Tue Jun 22, 2010 4:43 pm

I know it seems like an easy fix. The regulator is right there under the left panel. Seems to be held in by just a few clips. Damned if I can get it to move in or out. Would really like to remove and replace as it is showing all the classic symptoms of breaking down. Fuel gauge and temp gauge showing erratic behaviour. Anybody out there removed this regulator before can give me some input on how it is removed . All help and ideas greatly appreciated.

I'm putting on the 'way-back' hat...
it seems to me that I had to remove the shelter from the frame to access a clip on the backside of the regulator.

I'd bet that someone that has a 1000 could tell you precisely how it's attached.
