Repairing seat leather
Hey guys, I'm a newbie rider and member. I just got a '78 GL1000 from my father in-law, and it has some tears/holes in the driver seat, he put Gorilla tape over them and it is doing an amazing job so far, but I am a bit of a neat freak/OCD person and I would like to either repair the rips/tears/holes myself or possibly have a company repair them. My question is has anyone used a leather repair kit that they would recommend to me, also was the kit easy to use and did it look better than some blended in tape? If there are no kits out there that do a good job, does anyone happen to know the price range of getting my seat professionally fixed?

Re: Repairing seat leather
I suggest going on eBay to look for either a cover or a decent replacement.
Patching never does work well and usually more expensive to have it professionally done.
Depending on the seat, covers start at $50 and there's always someone that will take as much money as you want to throw at a seat.
You also might look around for someone parting out a bike.

It's never too late to have a happy childhood!
