Re: kickstart place
Are you sure your bike came with a kickstarter? Not sure but I believe they abandoned the kickstart after '77.

I don't have a picture of it but it mounts into the right side false tank shelter frame behind the overflow tank.

I scrolled down to your reply Mainviking. I didn't scroll all the way and your sentence was showing along with a photo of a person holding a little pickle looking thing.....
I looked at the whole thing for a minute trying to understand how a person would use a little gerkin pickle to start a bike.....
Then I scrolled the rest of the way and realized it was an advertisement, having nothing to do with your post.
That's funny!

Re: kickstart place
When I was riding the 1976 GL1000, I thought that was there for a joke, or in case you got into a fight with your GW, and needed something to brace your broken leg after trying to kick start it. The kick start lever, operated at right angles to the axis of the GW. But yes, it did hide behind some plastic cover, but cannot remember where. 40 years has taken its toll on my memory.

Yeah, I saw that too, and wondered if anyone was gonna think I was commenting on a gherkin pickle looking thing. I meant the kickstart lever. I say that just to let everyone know,tom84std wrote:I scrolled down to your reply Mainviking. You'd think guy would at least make some side shelter pivot pins from nails or something. Heck, he figured out how to tie the kickstart on with copper wire...tom84std wrote:Good Old Youtube.
