replacing clutch cable on a 1978 gl1000
Need to replace the clutch cable on a 1978 GL1000. I can't seem to find a description of this in the Honda shop manual. I do have pictures and a description for the GL1100 but at the engine the cable connection looks very different from the GL1000. I am sure that I can get the cable out and in but I would like to see step by step instructions for this procedure.

I suggest you do not remove the cable until you have a new one. Routing them correct is important, and it is best to tape the new cable to the old and pull the new through as you remove the old. Not a bad job, I think the GL1000's are the same but not sure.
There is a nice step by step at the NGWClub site that is also dedicated to these old girls with lots of life left. Scroll down to the section on the Clutch.

Have not hear that Honda is out of them, there are many sites selling Honda online if that is easier. Western Honda gets good reviews.
