Headlight quit. Need help!
Help Rose lost her eye! I'm camping in Seaside, OR and my headlight quit. She is a 77 gl1000. Worked fine here and then it stopped. There is power on both sides of the fuse but none at the blue/white and the white connection to the harness going to the steering head. All other lights work dash lights work and it runs fine. I don't really what to ride home without it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Can't help too much, but here is a schematic. Hope that will get you to the right area.

Wiggle jiggle and operate the start button a few times with the key OFF then check it...Power for both the hi and low beam go through the start button....they can stick.

Thanks for the diagram! My book is at home. And I will try wiggling the switch. Are you talking about the push button or the kill switch? Ill try both. Fingers crossed.

Push button start switch...Don't forget about the glass fuse...They often Crack inside...look good too...I think it's a 10 amp.
if nothing gets it lit up,lemme know...well rig up a bypass wire from the battery to the headlight switch if necessary.

Re: Headlight quit. Need help!
I wiggled all the switches and nothing worked. Gave up sat to think about a jumper wire. Went back to it turned it on and it is working now! I'm starting to think it might be the ignition switch. No worries for today though. Will tear into it when I get home. Thank you all!

Dark blue/white stripe goes to the start switch.
Worked on a Night Hawk a week ago that the blue/white had a cold soldier joint that came loose in the start switch. It was intermittent for a while for him, then none. You'll have to open the switch up to find it.
