starting issue
Hello everyone. It has been a while since I waslast on. I am hoping someone can help me out. I have recently ran into a new issue with my 78 GL1000. When I push the start botton the bike will fire up. But as soon as I let off the botton she dies imediatly. If I hold the botton in she has complete thrittle response but dies as soon as I let go. I have checked all grounds and wires. I have checked the fuel pump, filter, pitcock, and fuel lines. Does the start botton work on a different circuit than when let go to send spark to the plugs? I am wondering if it is just the balast resistor has finally died on me. Any advise?

Re: starting issue
Check the ballast resistor. (Located on coil mounts) Probably one of the connectors has come loose. Possibly bad resistor but not likely.
