78 and 82 compatability

78 and 82 compatability
Anybody know if brakes from a 78 will work on a 82 gl1100? I aquired a 78 parts bike on trade and need brakes.

well it turns out tha brakes are not compatible which is what i was hoping for. the pistons in the calipers are a totally different diameter. suck for me.

You really wouldn't want the single piston calipers off an 78 to replace the double piston calipers on an 82. That really going backwards in stopping power. Just rebuild the 82's brakes, parts are reasonable.
