problem with new master cylinder
Hi guys. I'm new to the forum, and have a question about my front brakes on my 1979 GL1000. I bought a brand new front master cylinder for my bike off ebay since the original was shot. I get brake fluid to both calipers, but my brake lever feels soft compared to the original before it went bad. Any ideas please help

Re: problem with new master cylinder
2 possible things.
First bleed the air from the master cylinder at the banjo connection... then the furthest caliper then the closest one.Completely flushing all the old fluid out of the system.
If all the air bubbles are positively gone (use a mity vac if necessary),the brake lines may be deteriorating.
Under pressure, they may not be holding there diameter(bulging) accounting for a soft lever action.
