I sent my sheet metal in for paint, and of course, it took over a year. In that time I only started the bike a couple of times.
Now that is put back together, my battery tests out over 12V but the bike won't turn over when I go to start it. The best I can get is a buzzing sound from around the battery main fuse area. What am I missing?
Bike is in neutral, but the neutral light is not on.
I have ready possibly the oil gummed up and I need to change it? Also read if the starter is gummed up to change it using a quart of Miracle Mystery Oil to break it free.
Thanks!

Sounds like you may have a bad connection.Nickel1 wrote:I sent my sheet metal in for paint, and of course, it took over a year. In that time I only started the bike a couple of times.

Remove and clean both connections at the battery and also remove and clean the main ground on the motor mount.

Turn stop switch to off, bike in neutral, key switch to on, use a screwdriver to jump across main leads on the starter solenoid. See if that spins the motor, it should. If it does, you either have a bad solenoid or bad connection to it.
