Replacement Exhaust
Hello everyone, so I'm getting around to working on my 1977 Gl1000 and would like to replace the exhaust the previous owner put on it. The headers he put on appear to be warped and don't sit correctly so exhaust gasses come right out of it. Any information on replacement headers and mufflers would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Replacement Exhaust
I think ebay is your best bet for headers. Harley mufflers removed from a late model are almost free at most Harley shops or ebay. I have Sportster Screaming Eagles on my 76 that cost me $20. Brand new when I purchased them from ebay.

Thank you for the input. I was thinking of ebay as well. Should I try to find stock used headers or try to find ones that fit to the engine?

Not sure what you mean by that but you should get the one that actually fit the bike.Vir Honestus wrote:Thank you for the input. I was thinking of ebay as well. Should I try to find stock used headers or try to find ones that fit to the engine?

I've had their slip on's on another bike, affordable and good quality. Here's a nice replacement system with everything included for four bills.
