Discharged or damaged cell in battery? Cracked dog-bone fuse? Solenoid faulty ? Starter damaged or needs stripping/cleaning? Those are the first 4 that spring to mind.

Check the other items on the list now, especially the ground connections, as mentioned by SnoBrdr.Old Guard wrote:Checked starter, solenoid, fuses, all okay.

Re: 79 GL1000 elec problems
First off, thanks to all for the help. Back on the road again. I have a new question that has nothing to do with motorcycle problems. A few months ago I saw a video about a trike add on that showed the bike leaning. This was not a front conversion, but rear outriggers that leaned. I have spent hours searching, but have not been able to find the video or any related info. If anyone knows where I can find this info I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
