Looking in the manual about the final drive, there are some specialty tools needed for disassembly. So my question is, how badly does my final drive need to be taken apart? The bike probably has 93K on it. Would it be bad if I was to just clean out all the old grease (there is a lot) and re-grease and reinstall it? Also would using a parts washer to get out all the old grease damage any of the internal seals or o-rings?
Thanks!
Chris

I would just clean and refill if you aren't experiencing any problems. You aren't going to hurt anything. However I would replace the seals and o-rings while I was in there. Not very expensive.

I don't know if there were any problems as I've never seen the bike run. Wasn't told of any, but you know how that goes!
So I don't need the specialty tools to replace seals and o rings?

Hahaha, belts you say? Just that they are about to be in a pile on my workbench. The bike has been totally taken down to the frame. So the belts are not a main concern right now...
