Starter ???

Having a problem with my 76 gl1000 starter. When I turn the key switch from run to off the starter kicks in for a split second. (Bike not running). Just enough to hear it. Otherwise the starter works normally. Any thoughts?

It sounds like there is some current flowing where it shouldn't... could it be one of the diodes? Or a bad contact somewhere?

I'm thinking the same thing but I haven't had time to do any tests yet.
