79 gl1000 brake pins

Post by broomds »

I need to replace my rear break on my 79 gl1000. I got the breaks all apart after pulling the rear tire and have a pin that is Ben and was frozen into the caliper. I managed to get it out but can't seem to find anywhere that I can get a new one. Has anybody else ran across this or know where I could find one? Here's the part number just in case any body is not sure what I'm talking about. 43215-431-671 any help would be appreciated.

that part is gonna be very hard to find, but here is an option for you. take a look at this............http://www.ebay.com/itm/1979-HONDA-GL-1 ... Cb&vxp=mtr

this part has both pins still on it and since it has a "make offer" on it, you might be able to get it cheaper and have another rear caliper that you can rebuild and reuse if need be. offer him $10 bucks for it and you might be able to get it for that price.

That guy appears to be the EBay seller who tries to make it all back on shipping.

Should cost about $8 to ship that.

well, there are other sellers that have the same thing if you go to the page that the caliper is on. type into the search box.."1979 honda GL1000 rear brake caliper" and it will bring up an entire page of them. you'll have to scout around to see if any of them still have the pins in them or send the seller a message and ask them if they have the pins in the calipers.
