Hey all,
Is there a structural integrity purpose for the 'horseshoe' shaped muffler on the '76? I want to delete it and go with separate silencers on each side.. Any issues foreseen other than lightness and awesomeness?
Thanks for any replies.
Question before I do something stupid...

No, that's why they replaced it in 78 with a totally different design.GL_Steve wrote:Hey all,

Many people run aftermarket mufflers as OEM is no longer available and even one in decent shape goes for good $$$.

I have a excellent 77 exhaust sytem. Would love for it to find a new home! No rust, nice looking chrome. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks for the offer, I'm sure they will find a loving home.
I'm putting cherry bombs on it. As much as I like a quiet bike, people around here completely oblivious to motorcycles unless they can hear and see you.. Putting on twin truck air horns next.. need to wake up the people that fall asleep at red lights and/or texting.
