Air Cut Off Valve
Hi I am new to this site. I have a 79 GL1000 which has a drivability concern during extreme hot and rain wet weather conditions. Vehicle is always had to start, having to always use choke. During running stage choke always has to be used 1/2 to 3/4 open so vehicle will run upon take off and while on highway. During hot or rain weather conditions bike runs rough while stopped at lights, have to open choke to be able to move and bike does stall out. When this happens bike will not restart. Carbs were rebuilt last year, new timing belts, points and complete tune up. It has progressively got worse since then, thinking Air Cut Off Valve, any thoughts? Appreciated. Oh yea very little miles since work completed. Thank you.

Re: Air Cut Off Valve
I think not regarding the cut off valve. First place I would look is for a vacuum leak. Sounds like a lean condition. Second is the carbs were not cleaned properly or the floats weren't set correctly.
