I'm getting ready to put some new tires on my 78 GL1000. The tires on it now are 110/90-19 front and a 130/90-17 rear. Bigger than standard, but seem to be the only sizes readily available anymore, no problems with this I assume since the PO had been running them? Second, are my Comstar rims tubeless? I've read where Honda ran them as such on some models but not all?

Agree with your post. Pretty sure you can run tubeless on costar but not sure. I know Lester and Abe Star both were tubeless aftermarket wheels.

I checked on another forum and confirmed that the early comstar rim is for a tube tire combination. Later ones changed the inner bead on the rim to become tubeless. So while some do run tubeless, the rim is not designed for that and the user accepts his own risk. I would run a tube as my health is important.
