i finaly got my 76 gl1000 running to find out the previous owner wired the fan to stay on all the time. i flushed the cooling system but the motor stays bellow the middle bar no matter how long it runs. when i give it gas the temp goes down so i think its flowing correctly. Since it stays cool i'm also wondering if they took out the thermostat. 80degrees in california and it stayes bellow the middle bar after 30 minutes of running.
Is it going to be ok?
Should i put back in the thermostat if they took it out?
is it ok for the fan to always run even when its cool?
Any ideas how to wire it back up correctly?

Honda and all manufacturers put in thermostats for a reason.otakuphill wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2017 11:20 pm i finaly got my 76 gl1000 running to find out the previous owner wired the fan to stay on all the time. i flushed the cooling system but the motor stays bellow the middle bar no matter how long it runs. when i give it gas the temp goes down so i think its flowing correctly. Other than being a drag on the system and possibly burning out the fan prematurely, running it is OK.
Hard to tell you how to wire it back up without knowing what was done.
Did the PO just tie the wires together or did he run a switch or ???
