Hi. Im rebuilding a GL1000. Initaly planned several years to do but I am working on it more now.I need advice regarding using gasket sealant on the many gaskets on the engine. Workshop book states to not use any gasket sealant on the head gaskets. Is this a good idea? Also what type if any sealant should I use on the rest, rear cover, water pump etc if any?
My bike log book (V5 in UK) states its a 1979 but I think its a 1977, the body panels and other parts match a 1977 model I think.
Can any one confirm its correct model year please?

Don't use sealant, use a good gasket set instead.Shammon wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 4:21 am Hi. Im rebuilding a GL1000.
