Fuel sending unit 1975 GL1000
My fuel sending unit is beyond repair. It is difficult to find a replacement. Will a 1982 GL1100 fuel sending unit work for my 1975 GL1000. Thanks in advance for any help

By "beyond repair", just what do you mean by that?
Please post up a picture.
If it is just crudded up with sediments or corrosion, you can soak it in Distilled White Vinegar for a couple days, and all of that will disappear. It will look almost like new again. Even the resistor element.
You need to slosh it around once in a while.

Re: Fuel sending unit 1975 GL1000
I have read the blog online here in how to resurrect these units. Both wires are broken off, tabs broken. Soldering those small wires and unwinding the Rheostat wire? is beyond my dexterity skills. Just looking to other alternatives. Looking at the GL1100 fuel sending device, it looks similar to the GL1000. Does the GL1100 have the step down in voltage that the GL1000 has or is that a non issue. Thanks

That is the definition of "Broken"

In your case, you need to find a good, clean, serviceable unit.
