Im wrapping up most of the big projects on my 1976 that I bought at an auction a year ago. What is usually done with worn fork sliders? My fork tubes are worn undersized but I am thinking of rotating them 90 degrees in their clamps. The sliders however, are worn way oversize, and will likely always leak. One thought I have is to find a shop that would be willing to chuck them in a lathe (fixturing them on center will surely be a hassle),and bore the worn area oversize enough to make up and press in a bushing. Of course maybe if I used a tailstock with a long taper I could perhaps pick up the hole for the damper rod...
Anyway, how is this fix usually done?
Thanks for your ideas,
Tammy
