Turn Signal Beeper
Has anyone found an alternative to the turn signal beeper? I like the idea of some kind of alert to remind you to turn off the signal, but I'm not real fond of the squealing noise that the stock item makes. I know some automobile signals make a clicking sound as a reminder. Has anyone made such a swap?

Most go the other way and just remove it.pshaginaw wrote: ↑Mon Mar 19, 2018 3:46 am Has anyone found an alternative to the turn signal beeper? Mine stopped working 20 years ago when I took off the faring.
Can't figure out which wire goes where, even with the wiring diagram.
The colors on my harness aren't the same as the diagram and it's the original harness.

My GL1000 was the first bike I had seen with this feature and found it to be very convenient and safe. So safe I replaced the one on my GL1000 and made a kit to add to any bike. I have added one of these to every bike I have and continually get comments about it. I have sold nearly 100 of these over the last couple of years and they are very easy to install.

My question is that I don't know which wire/connector goes where would this kit eliminate that issue ?

Re: Turn Signal Beeper
If you still have the original wired in there are three wires going to it. One from each front signal and a ground. Using the oem wires will not enable the silent feature. Not hard to figure out, but if you aren't sure you can make the connections at the rear signal wires under the seat and you are good to go. The connection to the brake light wire breaks the ground and silents the beeper as long as the brakes are applied.

All the wires are disconnected and I have attempted to figure out where they go over the years with no luck.badandy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 20, 2018 4:46 pm If you still have the original wired in there are three wires going to it. This kit comes with a buzzer or do you reuse the old one?

Re: Turn Signal Beeper
Thanks to all who gave me suggestions. I think I have found a suitable solution. I took some black foam molded sound insulation, and made a little pocket to enclose the beeper. It muffles the sound enough so I can still hear it with the engine running, but it's soft enough so others near me on the street will not think I'm torturing some small animal under the shelter side cover.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Great idea on the brake light to cancel. Might try that using a diode of course.
