My '75 GL1000 ran OK at speed, but idle was a bit lumpy and acceleration was hesitant. I decided to strip and clean the carbs again. I rebuilt them with Randakks kits and it's been running spot-on, but I suspected some fine rust had got through the filter after de-rusting last year and sure enough, it had. But after careful cleaning, as I was putting the floats back, I noticed what you see in the picture. Two of the other floats are showing signs of surface 'crazing' too. I have replaced all 4 (thanks to John at Wingovations) and she's running great. What D'you all think? Ethanol damage ?

I've been treating each tank of gas with StaBil Marine.Maz wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 2:13 pm My '75 GL1000 ran OK at speed, but idle was a bit lumpy and acceleration was hesitant. Re: flooding issue
Stablil Marine is the best solution for any storage over three weeks. Good luck getting it all out.

Re: flooding issue
I've used the Lucas fuel stabiliser when I stored it over winter and I try to use the 'Super' grade fuel, which is very low/zero ethanol here in the UK. I guess the damage could have begun before I started using this fuel though. I'll get some Stabil Marine from Ebay and use that in future.
