engine oil leak

Post by blutoy » Sat Jun 02, 2018 2:51 pm

I have a 1975 GL1000. It has a irritating oil leak. The oil is coming from the right side of the engine case. There are two 10mm Allyn plugs. One on the rear wall of the engine case. The other(the one in question) is on the bottom of the engine case. They are basically both adjacent to one another. From the exterior it appears the one in question has a crush washer. Here is the question. If I remove that plug to replace the crush washer will anything besides oil come out of the engine. Is this plug attached to anything within the engine. :o Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

Those are oil galley plugs, just a little oil will come out. Put some sealer on the threads also.
