Hello,
I like the 75-77 GL1000 "tank" more than the 1981 GL1100 and would like to switch them out.
Has anyone tried to put the 1000 onto the 1100 and how was the work needed to make it happen.
Thanks

I'm not going to say impossible but it's a whole different animal. The 1100 false tank comes off in 1 piece and the 1000 has separate side panels that hinge to the inner piece that has all the electrical components mounted to it as well as the coolant tank and I doubt it would fit the 1100 frame.

Thank you for your thoughts. Since I don't have the 1100 in front of me I had no way of knowing. I think I will look into having a fiberglass tank made to my design and the mounting points of the 1100.
