Hey Guys I'm hoping someone can help me, I may be splitting hairs on this. I used the Color Rite paint system Vivid Black to repaint my swing arm applying a couple base coats, 3 color, and a couple clear coats. When painting I covered up the caliper stay bolt and axle holes but not the surface area around the holes. In putting back together I don't have the axle and stay bolts tightened to the recommended foot pounds but both are fairly tight. I bought some new/old stock Honda pads for this bike but neither wants to slide into the caliper. The pistons are in all the way, and I'm not missing by much maybe a millimeter. Worse I try to slide my old pads back in and both slide into the inside slot but neither will go on the outside. I can try to tighten bolts all the way to see where I get but... I'm wondering if the paint thickness could possibly be preventing the axle and stay bolt from compressing all the way against left side of frame, could this be leaving a fraction of extra clearance for the inside pad while making the inside slot more narrow? My new/old stock pads have the shims which I can remove but first I'd like to know my old pads go back in. Any help is greatly appreciated. Had to remove the gas tank to refinish why I had the back end off and decided to do swing arm.
