I'm new to the Goldwings. I see my temp going up in stop and go traffic, and come back to normal once in motion. I haven't seen it get dangerously hot yet.
Is this normal or should I begin checking thermostats and such.

Is the coolant tank full?
What you have described is not uncommon.
Also, don't forget that the GL gauges are just a guesstimate and are not 100% accurate. Just look at the fuel gauge.

By the time the temp gauge gets to 3/4 scale the fan should be on....
