Starter issues and ignition wiring?
Hello! First time here and I bought a rough 1979 goldwing 1100 and it's far from pretty. My first question is the previous owner had demolished the ignition due to it being froze up and I'm curious to see if any one has wired an aftermarket ignition anyhow?.. It started by jumping the solenoid when I bought the bike but now it down want to turn over, I pulled all the plugs and the starter turns the bike over just fine but dosent turn over under a load. I've taken the starter off and cleaned the carbon build up out and regreased it and still nothing. Time for a new starter? Any help would be much appreciated!

A side note. With the plugs in,turn off the spark with the kill switch..Does it still crank badly?
My timing was off and fired the cylinders too early.
Oh..and yes..one could rewire a generic ignition switch if a OEM original can't be found.
You do lose some switch functions tho.
