Quality Head Gaskets that are Made in the USA
You can now get quality head gaskets for the GL1000 that are made in the USA. During the development process, Saber Cycle asked me to inspect and install a set on a 1977 GL1000 project bike that I was working on and I was impressed. It is nice to see "Made in the USA" on products again. If you need head gaskets, I recommend these. Best Gasket Inc. is the manufacturer.

Is that the same, one size fits all, head gasket they say fits The 1000, 1100, and 1200 four cylinder wings? Take care what you lend your name to as Saber-Cycle head gaskets have been failing time after time for years.

These head gaskets were specifically designed for the GL1000 and I believe they are high quality gaskets. They worked fine on my project bike. I have done a lot of GL1000 restorations.

Sabre Cycle has a pretty bad rep in the GL world from what I have read.cfairweather wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 9:21 pm You can now get quality head gaskets for the GL1000 that are made in the USA. cfairweather. Please don't think we are dissing you. Some of us have been stung by Saber-Cycle over the years. No way we will buy from them again. "Even if what you say turns out to be true. Let us know in a year if the gasket holds up. You see there is no recourse if it fails. You failed to install it correctly and are an idiot according to them.

cfairweather,
I hope your experience with Saber-Cycle continues to fair out well.....
but that lady ( being kind here ) has left an extremely foul taste in our mouths from many years of bad experiences with her.
If they/she happens to supply you with the wrong part, you are the one at fault, and no recourse, and you get the pleasure of hearing language that would embarrass a sailor.
She once joined up with us in a Thread on SSWGF, in fact, she started the thread.... over the course of a few days, it deteriorated in a foul mouthed exchange.... she made her bed, and we will never look in that direction.
