Radiator fan not working

I've been working on my motorcycle for a while now and never any of the times i ran it has the fan kicked on and I am not sure if its just because the engine never got hot enough. Anyways I currently have the radiator and fan off because I'm replacing my timing belts so I was wondering, while its off, is there anyway I can test the radiator fans motor to see if I need to just replace it?
I've read stuff but I am not good with electronics so I was hoping for some tips.

I also wonder is there a way to test to make sure the waterpump works?
It hasn't ran since the 80's so I want to inspect everything important.

I wouldn't be too concerned about either the fan or the control sensor switch, they rarely fail. Most common failure is corrosion in the connector on the switch, very easy to get to with the radiator off, it's right by the thermostat along with the sensor for the temperature gauge.

Pull the plug off the fan control switch and make sure the connections are clean and tight. Fan can be tested simply by putting 12v to the wires while it is still off the bike.

Thank you, fan works perfectly fine. Timing belts are now replaced,
I'll try cleaning off any visible corrosion on the switch
